About CEED Examination
The Common Entrance Examination for Design or CEED is a joint entrance exam for post-graduate studies in the field of technological design held annually jointly at IIT’s and IISc. The Examination if conducted by the Industrial Design Center, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
The CEED provides entry to the Master of Design Program or the M.Des or M.Design.

About UCEED Entrance Exam
The UCEED or the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design is conducted by IIT Bombay under the guidance of the UCEED-CEED Implementation Committee every year to offer admission to eligible candidates in the B.Des or Bachelor of Design programs offered at colleges accepting UCEED scores.
UCEED Syllabus
The UCEED Entrance Exam will consist of two parts.

UCEED Entrance exam and UCEED Preparation being a highly competitive, there are many questions that the aspirants are looking for. Therefore, here we will provide answers to frequently asked questions:
Q1. Is Mathematics compulsory for UCEED Entrance?
Answer: Candidates from any discipline can apply for the UCEED Exam. However, students who complete their qualifying exam from any of the following discipline – Science stream without maths or physics or chemistry, commerce and arts and Humanities are eligible to apply for the admission in IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Guwahati and IIITDM Jabalpur.
Q2. What is the qualifying exam of UCEED 2022?
Answer: According to the UCEED eligibility criteria, students must pass the 10+2 board exam or its equivalent. Students who will appear in the 10+2 exam in 2022 can also apply for the UCEED. Candidates from all the disciplines – Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities are eligible to apply for the undergraduate admission in design programs.
Q3. How many times can I appear for the UCEED Exam?
Answer: Candidates can appear for the UCEED for of two times, and that too for in consecutive years. The UCEED Score is valid for one year only.
Q4. What is the format of the UCEED Question Paper?
Answer: The UCEED is a 3 hours duration test of 300 marks. For Instance, the paper usually comprises of 68 objective type questions that are spread across 3 sections – Section A (NAT – Numeric Answer type), Section B (MSQ – Multiple Selection Questions), and Section C (MCQ – Multiple Choice Questions). Part B of the UCEED Exam will contain one sketching related question.
Q5. Is there any subjective question on drawing in the UCEED Question paper?
Answer: Yes the UCEED Question Paper contains one subjective question to test the drawing skills of candidates.
Q6. I appeared for UCEED 2021 but did not qualify. Can I appear for the UCEED 2022?
Answer: Yes, you can, provided you meet the age and year of passing qualification certificate criteria as mentioned in the guidelines brochure. However, do remember that a candidate can attempt UCEED for maximum of twice and that too in consecutive years. And the UCEED Score is valid only for admissions in the corresponding year.
Q7. I made a mistake while filling up the registration form. What should I do?
Answer: Firstly, always be very careful while filling out the registration form, this is very important. However, if you have made any mistake, send an email to the official mail ID – uceed@iitb.ac.in with the details of your registration number, candidate name and contact number. And describe the nature of mistake clearly in your mail. They will surely rectify the error or advice you on what to do next.
