Jury system of Evaluation –

CODE follows a very practical working culture resembling to what we see in actual profession to train its design students from day 1 to cop up with market pressure. As a step ahead to this, we follow an open Jury system for final evaluation at the end of every semester where practicing Design experts from around the country are invited as Juror. A team of external & internal Jury members evaluate every student’s whole semester work on practical grounds in front of the rest of the students. Cross-questioning is open for all. This grilling session works as a boon for Design students to grow as confident & Independent professional in their career ahead. So no student passing out of CODE is left with any fear of customer handling. Juror panel includes established Fashion Designers, Textile Designers, Jewelry Designers, experienced Academicians and Professional experts of specific fields.

CODE is a part of Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur so it has a huge students’ & staff base. Around 8000 students & more than 1000 staff members show up every day in campus for different courses. Before we give you a miniature crash-course in everything about interior designing and its proverbial nooks and crannies, let’s understand what interior designing actually is in the first place. Interior designing essentially involves a broad spectrum of skills: from understanding textiles and their workability in a blueprint to making sure that a design adheres to the rules and laws of the locality, an interior designer is expected to know everything that is inside and outside any concrete structure.

These days however, institutes are looking to evolve with the times, with courses that combine complementary fields, such as architecture and design.

Interior design involves the use of architectural, technical and creative skills to create an aesthetically pleasing environment according to a client’s needs and specifications. Interior designers must be able to create a safe, secure and comfortable environment to live in. An interior design degree opens up numerous opportunities in the residential and commercial design sectors as well as outdoor landscaping and designing. Interior designers can also work independently, and about half of all interior designers set up their own businesses thanks to the high demand and advancement opportunities offered by this field. It is the art of defining spaces that surround us…from the inside out. Whether within intimately small spaces or much larger schemes, within residential, commercial or work related places, the interior designer must demonstrate the ability to adapt and develop, way beyond simple decoration, subtle design proposals both sensitive to context and responsive to complex constraints and specific requirements.”

The B.Des Degree, a 4 year programme encourages a thorough yet versatile design approach, following systematic and coordinated methodologies. With an emphasis on Residential, Retail, Commercial Spaces etc., the program is intended for undergraduate students aiming to become professional interior designers. Inter-disciplinary in nature and structure, the studio and the classroom serve as complementary spaces for design thinking and creative expression as well as technical and professional skills development. The course builds up with individual projects in various semesters which is presented before a panel of critics, followed by a 6 month mandatory internship and thesis. The significant studio practice and the plurality of choices offered by this program prepare graduates for immediate insertion into the interior design field in India and internationally, or for entry into specialized Master’s degree programs.

Candidates must have a valid NATA score (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by Council of Architecture (COA) / JEE (Main) Paper – II and 10+2 scheme of examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination OR 10+3 Diploma

Note : Merit list will be prepared considering 50% weightage of each, NATA/JEE(Paper-II) score and marks in Qualifying examination.

Provisional admission will be offered to the candidates on first come basis if they meet the eligibility requirements. Confirmation of admission will be on the basis of verification of original documents.
