The NIFT Results 2025 is out. It must be an amazing feeling now that you have reached this stage of the NIFT Admission process. Firstly, preparing for the NIFT Entrance Exam, secondly, appearing for the NIFT Entrance Exam, and finally, the suspense which you have been through all the while waiting for the NIFT results 2025; this surely must have been a memorable journey and a terrific experience for you all which you all will cherish for the lifetime.
But, your race for NIFT Admission is still not over yet…! There is a bit of effort still left to be put in by you and us as well to help you achieve your goals. Yes, now comes the most crucial part of the NIFT Preparation. That is the NIFT Situation Test, NIFT GD, and PI.
So, let us dive into the details of the next stages of the NIFT Admission Process.
What is in store for you after the NIFT Results 2025
NIFT B.Des
For, all the NIFT B.Des aspirants, the next step of the qualification test coming up is the NIFT Situation Test. From thereafter cracking the Situation Test, and getting the results, you will be almost through for counseling, and admissions into the NIFT colleges. The situation Test for the B.Des of the Bachelor of Design program carries a weightage of 20% of the overall exam.
NIFT M.Des
Now, all the NIFT M.Des or the Master of Design aspirants should start preparing for the NIFT Group Discussion and NIFT Personal Interview. The GD and PI carry a 30% weightage of the overall exam. And finally, after the GD PI and the results, you will reach your final stage, which is counseling and admission into the NIFT Colleges. Here you will need to present a proper and impressive portfolio.
NIFT B.F.Tech
And, finally, for the NIFT B.F.Tech or the Bachelor of Fashion Technology aspirants it seems that they have reached their final stage of admission in to the NIFT College, which is counseling.
NIFT M.F.Tech
Now after the NIFT Results 2025 are out, the last Stage for the NIFT M.F.Tech or Master of Fashion Technology aspirants is the Group Discussion and Personal Interview, and the portfolio. A portfolio is a compilation of your creations. This stage of the admission process carries about 30% weightage of the overall exam.
NIFT M.F.M.
After you have got your NIFT Entrance Results 2025, the aspirants preparing for the NIFT M.F.Tech or the Master of Fashion Management have to start preparing for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview. And then you will be through with the counseling and getting admission into your college accordingly.

About NIFT Situation Test 2025
NIFT Situation Test is about creating a 3D model in a limited period of time, that is 2hours and you will also have to submit a write-up explaining your idea behind creating the 3D model. The Situation Test carries a weightage of 20% of the overall exam.
The aspirants who are up for the B.Des program and have cleared the GAT and CAT will now have to brace themselves up for the NIFT Situation Test. In the situation test, you will be given some material and some questions, here the questions will be instructions on what you have to make out of the materials given to you. Here you may be asked to create something which may be related to things of daily use, or anything related to the current social situation or event. You will have 2 hours to complete your model, including the write-up explaining the idea and concept behind your creation. The Situation Test is equally competitive in comparison to the CAT and GAT. In the situation test you will be assessed upon the below-mentioned parameters:

Start cutting and combining
You have to start observing things all around you. Enhancing your observation skill helps a lot to get new ideas and enrich your creativity.
Take a topic, maybe a current social scenario or situation, and start coming up with ideas about what relevant 3D model you can make which will depict the situation.
Try to develop innovative and relevant ideas related to questions with reference to Situation Test Previous Year’s Question Papers. This will also make you thorough with the type of questions that are asked in the situation test. Finally, practicing will surely take you a long way.
When you come up with a topic; start conceptualizing it by making a sketch. After that, start making the 3D model or figure with the various materials available to you.
Start working with different kinds of materials and what all can you make from the various materials. This will make you proficient in material handling.
About NIFT Group Discussion and Personal Interview
After the NIFT Results 2025, the aspirants who are up for the M.Des, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M PG programs, now have to start preparing for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
The NIFT Group Discussion is held for almost about 15-20 minutes. A group is made comprising of approximately 8-10 candidates. They will be given a topic or a case study and the group will have to come up with an efficient solution to the problem. The proceedings of the group will be observed by a panel of judges who will assess each candidate on various parameters, like:
- Knowledge on the Topic
- Interpersonal Skills
- Clarity of the concept
- Skills to generate new ideas
- Leadership qualities, and
- Communication skills
The NIFT Personal Interview is the final and most crucial stage of all. Your final selection will very much depend on your overall personality, attitude and aptitude, and your focus on your career. Here, you will have to face a single or a panel of interviewers who will judge you on some basic parameters like,

How to prepare for GD/PI
Here are some tips of how to prepare for the NIFT GD and PI.
- You have to have a clear understanding of the topic; you should not have any doubts regarding the topic. If any confusion, you must immediately clarify .
- Before speaking, make precise points on which you will be debating along with backing your points with facts and figures.
- Work on your communication skills if required. Because even though your idea is unique and potential enough but if not represented the way you want to will not have the expected impact. Therefore, you must be able to communicate exactly what you are thinking.
- Initiating the Group discussion will help you establish your potential as a team leader and present your team handling skills.
- While in the group discussion or personal interview it is very important that you convey the depth of your knowledge on the topic efficiently.

- You should keep your cool and should not be fidgeting. This shows your anxiety.

- Dress Smartly in formals and a neck-tie is always a must.

About NIFT Portfolio
A portfolio is basically an extension of you as a creator. A portfolio speaks about you a lot. Therefore, you have to create an original, genuine, honest, and creative portfolio. A portfolio showcases your skills, creativity, innovation, and imaginative abilities. This is a collection of your work and may comprise of illustrative, pictograms signifying something, photographs, or even video. This also should contain illustrations about how the particular creation came to your mind and how you went ahead with the idea, etc. This also helps make your work or idea look authentic. So, your portfolio should contain creations, and ideas behind those creations. A portfolio will represent your creativity quotient, your innovative and unique thinking abilities.
