The Indian fashion industry needs designers with in-depth knowledge and abilities in design innovation and technology as a result of the integration of domestic and export markets. Additionally, there is local and external demand on Indian designers to produce unique contributions. Future designers have problems in showcasing their individual design philosophies and fostering innovation and creativity. By doing so, the sector will be able to meet international standards and apply its design expertise to a variety of fields. The primary goal of this course is to teach students how to enhance their creativity and how to be able to capture it on paper in the form of sketches and technical drawings. Depending on their career objectives, students may choose to specialise in any area of design. The course also attempts to introduce students to new technologies that are being developed in the design industry. One might pursue a career working with design studios, multinational corporations, prestigious fashion companies, emerging and established designers, fashion journals, film producers, and more after having a significant amount of expertise in fashion design.

The course blends the foundational knowledge of form and function with the current standards for providing the best possible user experiences. Students gain a comprehensive awareness of the materials that are available, skill sets, and the many different vendor capabilities and manufacturing methods. The curriculum is grounded in the development of skills, the integration of technology, business practices, and the cultivation of critical thinking skills. Through courses in graphic representation and material prototyping, our Product Design programme stimulates lateral thinking while preparing students to cross disciplinary barriers. Understanding materials, processes, ergonomics, human behaviour, systems, and their interactions is necessary for product design. An innovative strategy for working with the sector promotes actively participating in initiatives that are centred on resolving issues in the Indian market and using it to create prototype solutions for global problems. Course Duration : 3 years(Minimum)

A Ph.D. in Design is a significant academic and research endeavour. It is a terminal degree that enables individuals to become experts in their chosen design profession and contribute to the progress of knowledge in that subject. Conducting original research, building new theoretical frameworks, and contributing to the existing body of knowledge in design are typical Ph.D. program activities.
